Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
0.5 Minced Beef 500g / 2oz lean beef mince
50 Breadcrumbs 50g / 13/4oz fresh white breadcrumbs
1 Onion 1 medium onion, freshly chopped/ grated
3 Flat Leaf Parsley 3 tbsp flatleaf parsley, chopped
2 Dijon mustard 2 tsp dijon mustard
1 Tomato paste 1 tbsp sun-dried tomato paste
1 Marjoram 1 tbsp fresh marjoram , chopped
1 Egg yolk 1 egg york
Salt To taste
Cooking oil
6 Buns 6 buns,round-shaped
3 Tomatoes 3 tomatoes, sliced round
Mayonnaise
Cucumber Cucumber, pickle shaped

Home Made Beef Burger

This is an easy recipe and can be prepared with locally available ingredients , probably a stone throw from your kitchen or whatever distance it is between your home and the nearest butchery haha.

Kenya is a burger eating nation! For most burger fanatics, they would prefer one that’s meaty meaning you have to be generous with the amount of beef in your burger. This recipe will help you prepare some savory  tasty beef burger at home that you can enjoy with your family

In a large bowl, add in your beef mince, go in with all the ingredients, the breadcrumbs, onions, parsley, mustard, tomato paste, marjoram, egg yolk and a few pinch salt and pepper just to add to the flavour.

Mix everything together, preferably with your hands for about 1 minute. Shape the meat into one, wet your hands then divide into 6 parts. Make flat thick patty sized pieces.

Get the pan on the heat, on your meat pieces, add a little oil on top and spread. Turn over the side with the oil , giving it about 2 minutes before turning. Do not overcrowd , depending on the size of the pan. Make sure not to overcook your meat. Oil the side before your turn.

For the juices left on the pan, get your buns in and slide them on for a minute to soak the juices up and get that crunchy taste.

With everything set, let's assemble. The bun at the base, spread your mayonnaise, a piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato, your beef patty and last your pickled sized cucumber your top bun.
